It's interesting how you can come up with an idea that you think is good, spend weeks trying to craft it into a flowing narrative, working even at the expense of your own comfort, and end with what you think is a good product. Then, you put it next to somebody else's work and in an instant it turns into a piece of crap.
Anyway, I made it into the first round of TOFA and was quite pumped, this being the first year I had even entered. I was summarily trounced in the first round, whic was the first one with actual scores. Think I'll open up a lemonade stand, since my summer is kind of free now.
Did you all survive the Rapture?
Of course you did. I can think of some things that didn't, though, like some folks' jobs, relationships with their families, and... well, just read this:
The quotes from the kids are some of my favorite.
Here's a Newgrounds-style tribute to college basketball:
Now, I'm no bookie, but I think I have a pretty good idea who's gonna win that particular match-up. Anyway, enjoy and all that!
Man, February was a busy month for me in the Flash cartoon parody realm! First, I managed to churn out an entire cartoon in one day, and at the same time revisit the time-honored tradition of spoofing the classic Tootsie Roll Pop "How Many Licks?" commercial:
Then, I released my very first (and, in all likelihood, last) sprite movie:
Incidentally, if you want to watch just Kirby's dance from the credits, you can go here:
And finally, I whipped up a parody of both an upcoming movie (Transformers 3) and a goofball filmmaker/conspiracy theorist (Bart Sibrel):
Overall, it was a fun month for me and one of my best pals, Satire! I've got plenty more in the works for the future, but I'm also hoping to enter TOFA this April, and that looks like it'll be fun!
Tried my hand at sprite movie-ing. Check it out, yo. Below, yo. In the part where it lists my movies...
I have performed a mandatory rite of passage for any comedy presence on the Internet: I have created a spoof of the classic "How Many Licks?" Tootsie Roll Pop commercial. Behold:
Tremble, ye mortals! Tremble!
Got a new cartoon that'll make you poop your pants with joy!
Joyous defecation for all!
Hey hey, Newgrounds! Gots a new Flashy movie for you, featuring all your favorite wintertime characters. I hope it gets you in the winter mood. Have a Happy Winter, everyone!
Yeah! Got my Halloween 2010 submission in ON TIME! Plus I got a DAILY FIFTH PLACE! Thanks for the views, and the kind votes, and the comments, and all that!
I was out of town doing Halloween stuff, then I came home and did more Halloween stuff. Now I kind of miss Halloween; it's always over so fast.
Anyway, hope you all had a happy Let's-Go-Out-And-Get-Candy-But-Watch-O ut-For-Ghosts-And-The-Devil-Even-Thoug h-This-Day-Doesn't-Really-Involve-The-
Devil-It-Was-Just-The-Church-Trying-To -Scare-People-Away-From-Paganism Day!
Got a new cartoon up today; this one took a little longer to make, but it ended up with about the same running time of the first one. Hopefully that means it's better.
Is anybody else out there having trouble uploading icons for their projects? I have yet to get a single one up. I know they're the right size, and I thought I read somewhere that they should be GIFs, but I've even tried other image types and nothing has worked yet. Any suggestions?
